Summer Update

My father rightly pointed out that we suck at blogging.  I have to be honest, with Facebook and my cellphone (allowing instant photos/videos/sharing), I forget to blog!  But I know many of you (very smartly) do not have Facebook (grant me the will power to delete it!!) and so here is a photo update of Josephine from about 6 months.  Luckily Remi was smart and started a 6-12 month folder for photos.  We have MILLIONS of pictures of this gorgeous little bug!

...

Josie of course woke up from her nap when I started working on this so here I am a week later!  Having gone through all our recent photos I realize there are quite a few I'd like to share so I'm going to do it over a few blog posts.

One of the many faces of Josie.  This kid makes me laugh DAILY.
Thanks to the hot and dry weather early in the season, we had quite the cherry crop this year and were able to invite some friends out for cherry picking as well! Josephine thought it was quite neat.

 Pit extraction...
Josie has been refusing to be fed off a spoon for a few months now.  She insists of feeding herself.  We've been working with lots of different finger foods, some messier than others (avocado in the hair is a favourite...).
Strawberries are baby crack.  And blueberries.  Thank goodness Josie started solids during the summer!  The fresh produce abounds in the Valley!
She often waves or holds her food up to study it.  When she starts smearing it all over the tray and throwing it at me and Maggie, I know she's full.
Hehehe.  This picture took some doing. She was sticking her little tongue out and we couldn't resist capturing it.
Ahh... lazy weekend mornings.  We have breakfast (bacon & eggs, pancakes and recently crepes - Josie is back on dairy and so am I - HOORAH!), and lounge a bit in our jammies before first nap.  It's just plain enjoyable!
Josie is legitimately teething!  I've been saying for months that she's teething but she has been for real lately. She actually has two teeth!  First the bottom front right and then the left popped through.  It's been hellish. Lots of chewing going on around here!
We've been doing a lot of reading! Josie turns the pages now (with a little bit of help) and loves to study the pictures.
We've also been hanging out with friends!  Carol and V (mama and baby) are two of our besties!  This was taken at Mill Lake in Abbotsford.  We picnicked and then splashed in the waterpark.  It's been so hot here this summer!
Josie, Mason and V - sleepy time after the picnic :)
 My baby :)
Josie could wake up any second now but I'm feeling adventurous!  Will attempt to upload a few more photos...

She's still sleeping!  One last set of photos:

We've been to the Envision Twilight Concerts two or three times this year.  These are free concerts held in Mission's beautiful Heritage Park on Wednesday and Friday evenings.  Josie has enjoyed them and so have we!  Sometimes we can't get up the gusto to go or we plum forget!  Here are some pictures from the first one we went to.

Josie enjoying one of the beans from our garden.  Looking at this photos makes me realize how crazy her hair has been growing lately!  This was taken just under a month ago and her hair is much thicker now!  She's actually starting to get little wings above both her ears and some serious bed-head ;)
Thank god for these squeeze pouches of baby food!  We mostly feed her homemade stuff or she eats what we eat but these have come in handy for picnics or other outings.
 My two loves
 Love this one!!
Josie loves it when you blow in her face.  I think she's starting to get over it a bit, but for a few weeks it was a sure-fire way to ensure a smile :)

That's enough for now!  I think I've posted about half of the ones I'd like to share.  Remi and I have been taking more pictures lately and have actually been doing STUFF!  We went for a walk this weekend and the beach twice so more photos to come!
