In July, a couple weeks after we returned from Indonesia, we were fortunate enough to have three special visitors to Vancouver :) It was both Kristin's and Keenan's first flights and they came through unscathed. Their flight was on-time too, which is always nice!
I had to work nights the full day they were here, so we went up to Lynn Canyon in the morning to check out the suspension bridge.
It was so long ago, I can't remember exactly what we did (we need to keep these blogs more up-to-date!), but at some point, Remi had a day off and we went to Stanley Park for a picnic.
Uncle Remi practiced his baby-feeding skills ;)
Later on, we went to the Vancouver Aquarium where we started out with the dolphin show.
We spent some time outside checking out the dolphins and sea otters and then headed inside. But not before Keenan tried to throw my sunglasses into the dolphin tank!
Keenan enjoyed the hands-on tank, but Mommy was worried ;)
There were two baby belugas while we were there and we were able to go below and see them in the tanks. Oh, I think this is actually the dolphin tank, but the view was similar.
Remi enjoyed marine biology'ing with Keenan. And he only bored him to tears once!
Later in the visit we went to the Reiffel Bird Sanctuary near Delta so Mom could get her bird fix.
Keenan seemed pretty intrigued with all the birdies everywhere. You can buy feed for the ducks so there are ducks and geese everywhere and they follow you around.
When that was done we hit Crescent Beach for some fish and chips and seaside time. Keenan's first steps in the ocean!
He only tried to eat a little bit of seaweed ;)
This one of Keenan and I is one of my favs from the trip.
Dinner at the homestead. Keenan started sharing a lot of our foods and tried a few new dishes out here :)
We also made time for napping :)
On a Remi work day, I took the family to Chinatown. We had dim sum and practiced our chopstick usage. Mom and Kristin did pretty well, but Keenan needs a bit of work ;) He left a mound of rice below his chair - I thought it was cute, but then I didn't have to clean it up ;) We left a good tip.
I believe it was that evening that we went to the fireworks. Luckily the Festival of Light was on while they were visiting.
Uncle Remi sharing his over-priced strawberry ice thingy. Looking mighty comfy with a baby ;)
Sleep-in day!
Bath time!
Keenan also really started working on his "walking" while he was here. He was pulling himself up on everything - really working out those chubby legs! Since he's left, he's actually pulling himself up and then standing independently.
Just before Kristin left we took one more field trip up the Sea-to-Sky highway to Squamish. We stopped off in Shannon Falls before heading to the Chief.
Which she actually climbed!!!
Second summit!
